The Vrijhaven series is made up of 4 ‘zines with interviews with, and essays by, Netherlands-based and Japan-based creative practitioners. Themes that were covered included High-Low Culture?, Center-Periphery?, and Identity Formation?

Rolien Zonneveld is a writer and editor focusing on the arts, fashion and culture, based in Amsterdam. We talk about dichotomies in the world and the arts, co-creation, and art education.

Momoko Ando is a movie director, also focussing on farming and art. The conversation is about her music taste, how she approaches her practice, and her move to the countryside, Kochi.

Hiroaki Nagahata is an editor, writer, and main editor and publisher of fashion magazine STUDY. The conversation is about the role of fashion within constructing "the Japanese identity", the rising popularity of second hand clothing (in JP) and Haruki and Ryu Murakami.

Olya Oleinic is a photographer, but her work also spans into film, video, and installation. We talk about (not-)belonging, the global merging of ideas, language, and territorial identity.
